Ever-learning Eyes

To teach and defend the gospel news,
Is glory for God in heaven!
Eschewing opinions of men, and views,
Avoids the scribe’s old leaven.
Read Scripture with ever-learning eyes,
Its ancient pages, anew;
The humble hears the Word to be wise,
To sift the false from the true.
With studied notes and careful words,
We seek the Lord to obey;
The God who feeds the little birds,
Will carry us all the Way.
